IT Legend / Technical Lead
About the role
Due to our continued growth we're creating a technical lead role to oversee our technical operations and take full responsibility for our technical team.
Working mainly from our Castle Donington office the role has three main areas of responsibility…
Third line technical support – You will assist our helpdesk team and provide them with third line technical support. You will take responsibility and ownership of third line tickets and see them through to completion.
Project management – You will be responsible for technical projects such as Office 365 and Azure migrations, new server installs etc. You will work with our onsite engineer to coordinate and manage projects.
Product specialist - You will be responsible for keeping up to date with technology and attending new product launches and seminars. Helping True MSP stay at the forefront of technology and up to speed with the latest products so we can advise our clients.
This will also require you to deliver technical seminars and talks to our clients and prospects, from our dedicated seminar and meeting room facility.
Who are we looking for?
The role requires someone who has worked in the MSP industry for at least 5 years and are looking to take a step up in responsibility. Have extensive knowledge of working with and supporting SMB clients from all industries, with experience in Microsoft Server and cloud-based systems.
You will be technical but able to speak to users from all levels in plain English, from CEO to team member.
It’s important that you are outgoing and feel comfortable presenting and talking to a room. You will be a team player, happy to share your knowledge and help other team members and someone that puts outstanding customer service before anything else.
You will have knowledge and experience in the following systems…
• Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems
• Office 365
• Microsoft Azure
• Cloud backup systems such as Datto
• Hyper-V and VMware
• Server / SAN hardware
• Firewall and network infrastructure
• SIP/VOIP phone systems (not essential)
This role has a natural progression to become the Head of Technical.

Where are we based?
True HQ is located in Castle Donington, a few minutes from the A50 and J24 of the M1. This location provides excellent transport links to the midlands and wider UK.
We're only a few minutes away from many of our clients and for those further afield we're not wasting time getting out of a busy city centre.
We've also got a huge carpark so there's no worry about finding a space when you visit for training, demo's or just for a coffee.
